Delete your data from DM Flow
You can delete the data DM Flow holds about an Instagram account, or your whole DM Flow account, at any time. Here are the three ways, what each one deletes, and how to check a request.

1. Remove DM Flow from your Instagram account
In Instagram’s settings, find the apps and websites connected to your account and remove DM Flow. If Instagram asks whether you also want your data deleted, choose yes.
Instagram then sends us a signed deletion request. We delete the account’s data at once and give Instagram a confirmation code and a link to show you, so you can check the request.
If you only remove DM Flow, without asking for deletion, we disconnect the account and delete its access token. Its conversations stay until you ask us to delete them.
2. Disconnect the account in DM Flow
Sign in to DM Flow, open Home and choose Disconnect next to the Instagram account. DM Flow deletes the access token at once and stops sending messages for the account. Its conversations and contacts stay, so you can reconnect later. To delete them too, email us (below).
3. Delete your whole DM Flow account
Email hello@dmflow.app from the email address you sign in with, and ask us to delete your account. We delete your account and all its data within 30 days and reply to confirm. You can also ask us to delete only one Instagram account’s data.
What we delete
When we delete an Instagram account’s data, we delete:
- the connection: the account’s IDs, username, name, profile picture link and the encrypted access token;
- the contacts: everyone who commented or wrote to the account, with their tags;
- the conversations and messages, including comments and the replies sent;
- queued replies that were not sent yet;
- the notifications Instagram sent us about the account.
When you delete your whole DM Flow account, we also delete your sign-in details (name, email address and profile picture link), your automations and your feedback.
We keep a record that a deletion request was made, with its confirmation code and date, but no personal data. We keep other data only when the law requires us to. Our privacy policy has the details.
